Farm Equipment Bank Study

Download the Report

Farm equipment is often prohibitively expensive for farmers - especially small and beginning farmers in Rhode Island.  In 2011 the Rhode Island Association of Conservation Districts set out to study the feasibility of creating a shared equipment bank.

This report, released in November of 2012, details the equipment needs of farmers in Rhode Island and neighboring areas of Connecticut and Massachusetts, including data on concerns with sharing equipment and recommendations for entering into shared-use systems.
